CLARINET PAD MEASUREMENTThere are two methods that can be used to measure your instrument for the correct sizes of pads. They are (1) Measuring the pads and (2) Measuring the pad cups. See the sections below to determine which method you will use. MEASURING PADSClarinet pads are always measured at the widest point of the pad.Use a ruler with millimeter marks and measure the clarinet pad across the surface at the widest point. It's that simple. Measuring in this manner is the easiest way to proceed. In doing this, you are assuming that the previous installer put the correct size of pads on the clarinet. MEASURING PAD CUPSIf you would prefer to measure the pad cups, you will need to measure to the outside of the clarinet pad cup. Use this method if pads are missing or seem to be the wrong size for the clarinet.SIZESAll measurements should be taken to the closest 1/2 millimeter measurement. Always round down if you are not sure.We will need measurement "A" from the diagram below:
